MoCC Ambassadors Travel Grant

Since 2024, the MoCC has introduced the MoCC Ambassadors Travel Grant to empower outstanding MoCC Ambassadors to broaden their horizons and gain global exposure by participating in premier international events.

  Cristy
Felix Chan and Carmen Cheng attended the Global Sustainable Development Congress, co-hosted by CUHK and Times Higher Education in Bangkok, Thailand in June 2024 and shared their journeys in promoting sustainable development. Katy Dong and Chan Myae Yamon Thwin engaged in the 29th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
  Cristy Hu, a MoCC Ambassador, attended COP30 in Belém, Brazil, in November 2025 as one of the student delegates, gaining insights into global climate negotiations and international climate action discussions.

 

  • The MoCC Ambassadors Travel Grant supported two students, Felix Chan and Carmen Cheng, to attend and speak at the Times Higher Education Global Sustainable Development Congress, held in Bangkok in June 2024.
  • In November 2024, two other students, Katy Dong and Chan Myae Yamon Thwin, participated in the 29th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan, under the mentorship of Professor Amos Tai, Deputy Chairperson (Education) of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
  • Cristy Hu and Shantal Sin attended the 30th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, in November 2025 as student delegates under the mentorship of Professor Amos Tai and Professor Yuan Xu, gaining valuable exposure to international climate discussions and negotiations.

 

Eligibility

Applications are open exclusively to active MoCC Ambassadors.

Terms of the Award:
To be eligible for the MoCC Ambassadors Travel Grant, applicants must:

  • Successfully pass all the MoCC Ambassador assessments.
  • Lead a minimum of 10 guided tours.
  • Demonstrate active contributions to the MoCC through non-touring activities.

Post-Conference Commitments:
Upon returning from the conference, awardees will be expected to:

  • Develop at least three social media posts on the MoCC platforms to share their conference experiences and key takeaways.
  • Organize and lead at least one workshop or seminar to share key learnings.
  • Opportunities to represent the MoCC in media interviews or relevant conferences in Hong Kong.
  • Assist in curating a themed exhibition related to the conference and climate change policies.
