A New Look
To celebrate its fourth anniversary and to generate vitality and enthusiasm, the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change has launched ‘JC–CUHK Climate Action’.
JC–CUHK Climate Action consists of several innovative initiatives and projects to raise public awareness of climate change and sustainability, and to encourage the community to take a proactive stance in the combat against climate change.
A highlight of JC–CUHK Climate Action is the mobile version of the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change. This roving exhibition expands the museum’s reach beyond its physical confines and engages visitors from every background. To enhance public knowledge of climate change and the polar regions, the first exhibition—‘Polar Vision’ presentation utilizes novel technologies such as 3D holograms, augmented reality and multi-touch transparent display to enable visitors to explore, observe and experiment with the exhibits. Visitors can easily understand the interrelationship between the atmosphere, temperature, carbon dioxide and polar animals with the aid of these advanced tools.
‘Polar Vision’ will be presented to schools and other public spaces from January to June in 2018, at no charge. Visit the museum website (http://www.mocc.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/) for more information of the exhibition. Schools or organizations interested in hosting the exhibition may contact the Museum for further details (richardchung@cuhk.edu.hk; 3943 3979).
